The Ministry of National Defense has made important statements regarding the latest developments in Syria. The MSB stated, "Our country supports Syria's fight against terrorist organizations on the basis of its unity and territorial integrity. The statement from the MSB is as follows:

Following the terrorist organization's targeting of civilians and security forces, which resulted in 4 deaths and 18 injuries, the Syrian government has launched a counter-terrorism operation in Aleppo to ensure public order and the safety of its citizens.

This operation is being carried out entirely by the Syrian Army. Syria's security is our security. Turkey is closely monitoring the developments in Syria. In line with the principle of 'One State, One Army,' our country supports Syria's fight against terrorist organizations on the basis of its unity and territorial integrity. In this context, should Syria request assistance, Turkey will provide the necessary support.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Following the overthrow of Assad in Syria, HTS, which came to power, formed a transitional government. With no clear results emerging from the negotiations for the integration of the SDF, which controls one-third of Syrian territory, into the new Syrian Army, the two sides clashed on January 6 in Aleppo, the country's second-largest city.

As mutual clashes between the parties continue, both sides have issued statements accusing each other of civilian deaths.
