Breaking News... Tension escalates at the courthouse: Attempted assault on a judge

Following an argument between a judge serving at the Küçükçekmece Courthouse and a lawyer, legal proceedings have been initiated over allegations of an attempted assault.

THE ARGUMENT BEGAN IN COURT

In a statement issued by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that the incident occurred yesterday in the clerk's office of the Küçükçekmece Courthouse Civil Court of First Instance. It was stated that an argument broke out between the judge on duty and lawyer P.S., who was later identified as being registered with the Istanbul Bar Association, due to the statements the lawyer made regarding his case.

According to the statement, the argument escalated after it was pointed out that the points raised by the lawyer were not in accordance with the law.

In the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office statement, it was noted that the judge asked the lawyer to leave the clerk's office to prevent the argument from escalating further, but the lawyer continued his aggressive behavior. It was reported that lawyer P.S. punched the desk of the Clerk of Court and continued his angry behavior despite the police being called.

ALLEGATION OF ATTEMPTED ASSAULT

The statement indicated that the lawyer attempted to assault the judge and was restrained by people present at the scene. It was stated that the judge filed a complaint following the incident.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED, TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

It was reported that an investigation was launched against lawyer P.S. for "attempted intentional injury" upon the judge's complaint. Information was shared that lawyer P.S. has been taken into custody.
