Breaking News... Terrorist attack at TUSAŞ facilities in Ankara! Special Operations Teams dispatched to the region

It was reported that an explosion occurred in front of the TUSAŞ facilities in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara. A clash broke out following a bomb attack at the security gate around 15:20. Special Operations Teams were dispatched to the region.

According to a report by Sözcü, it was claimed that sounds of gunfire were heard in the area.

YERLİKAYA CONFIRMS TERRORIST ATTACK

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the terrorist attack. Yerlikaya stated that there were martyrs and wounded following the explosion.

Yerlikaya's statement is as follows:

A terrorist attack has been carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) facilities in Ankara's Kahramankazan district.

Unfortunately, there are martyrs and wounded following the attack.

ANKARA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY MAYOR MANSUR YAVAŞ: WE CONDEMN TERRORISM

Following the attack, a statement also came from Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş. In his post, Yavaş used the following expressions:

Following the attack, Naim Babüroğlu, one of the columnists for 12punto, made the following statements on SÖZCÜ TV:

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the terrorist attack on the TUSAŞ Kahramankazan campus.

JUSTICE MINISTER YILMAZ TUNÇ: JUDICIAL INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED

Justice Minister Tunç announced that an investigation into the TUSAŞ attack has begun. Minister Tunç stated the following:

"1 deputy chief public prosecutor and 8 public prosecutors have been assigned by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the judicial investigation into the treacherous terrorist attack."

RTÜK PRESIDENT EBUBEKİR ŞAHİN: CLAIMS FROM UNCERTAIN SOURCES SHOULD NOT BE FEATURED IN THE MEDIA

Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Ebubekir Şahin drew attention to the responsibility of the media during terrorist incidents in a statement he made on his social media account.

In his statement, Şahin said, "Considering both our laws and the principles of press ethics, it is extremely important that sensational, unverified information and claims that could cause panic among citizens or lead to public outrage after such incidents do not appear in the media. Only official information should be reflected in news reports. Otherwise, necessary sanctions will be applied against responsible broadcasters." he stated.

TUSAŞ GENERAL MANAGER AND SENIOR OFFICIALS WERE IN ISTANBUL AT THE TIME OF THE ATTACK

President of Defense Industries (SSB) Haluk Görgün and his accompanying delegation, along with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu, departed from SAHA EXPO in Istanbul and set off for Ankara following the terrorist attack.

TUSAŞ DELEGATION DEPARTED FROM ISTANBUL FOR ANKARA

At the time of the incident, Defense Industry President Görgün, TUSAŞ General Manager Demiroğlu, and senior officials in the defense industry were at SAHA EXPO, which is being held at the Istanbul Expo Center.

Upon receiving news of the terrorist attack, the delegation quickly left the fairgrounds and headed toward Ankara.
