Breaking News: The long-awaited letter from PKK terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan has arrived

DEM Party sources had reported that Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, would share a 'New Year's message' and that this message would include his 'assessments' regarding the second opening process, referred to as a Turkey without terrorism, and the SDF, the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization.

The letter written by Öcalan in Imralı Prison has been shared.

In his letter, Öcalan stated, "The crises and political conflicts deepening in the Middle East are the inevitable result of the stagnation and unsustainability of the despotic, power-oriented statist understanding of civilization that has persisted for thousands of years. The resolution of the Kurdish issue, which lies at the center of these crises, is only possible through social peace and democratic consensus. It is of vital importance that the issue be addressed not through conflict, war, or military and security-oriented methods, but on a democratic foundation that takes the will of the peoples as its basis."

The remainder of the letter included the following statements:

"The chaotic picture emerging in Syria is also a clear reflection of the need for democratization. The years-long management approach that was monist, oppressive, and denied identities has further strengthened the demands for freedom and equality of Kurds, Arabs, Alawites, and all peoples. The fundamental demand expressed within the framework of the agreement signed between the SDF and the Damascus administration on March 10 is a democratic political model in which peoples can govern themselves together. This approach also contains a foundation for democratic integration that can be negotiated with the central structure. The implementation of the March 10 Agreement will ease and accelerate the process.

It is of vital importance that Turkey assumes a facilitating, constructive, and dialogue-oriented role in this process. This is of critical importance both in terms of regional peace and for strengthening its own internal peace."

The full text of the letter, shared under the name of the 'New Year's message' from the terrorist leader, is as follows:

"May the new year be a year of peace, not war.

As we enter a new year, we must remember once again how the nationalism that developed intertwined with imperialist attacks throughout the last century has left the Middle East facing deep conflicts, destruction, and social divisions. Today, all the sectarianism and ethnic nationalisms experienced in the region draw their roots from this recent and painful history. Unfortunately, the hegemonic system's 'divide, rule, and provoke' strategy continues under different guises.

Precisely for this reason, the Peace and Democratic Society perspective we have developed despite the difficulties stands before us not just as a preference, but as a historical necessity. If evaluated correctly and clearly, this perspective is an antidote that can prevent new conflicts and make it possible for peoples to live together, equally and freely. Our primary responsibility in the coming period is to prevent a new conflict that could emerge in a short time and to avoid consequences that are impossible to rectify.

The modern history of the Middle East is largely a history of 'negative revolutions.' War, tyranny, denial, and destruction... In contrast, what we propose is a 'positive revolution.' That is, the reconstruction of society through democratic, peaceful, and moral-political methods. The peace we insistently advocate must not be an end, but a new beginning. And the struggle for rights, law, and democratization to be carried out in peace will eliminate hatred, opposition, and anger, and will open the door to a new life for everyone.

With this awareness, I wish to make the new year a year not of wars, destruction, and division, but of democratic consensus, peace, and the will to build the common future of peoples together.

I hope that the new year will open the door to peace, freedom, and a democratic future in Turkey, the Middle East, and the World; I celebrate the new year of all friends, especially the struggling peoples.

I wish for the new year to bring peace and a dignified life to all our peoples, and I send my love and greetings.

This period will be a period strengthened by women's freedom, where peoples integrate with democratic values in peace.
