Breaking News: Turkey and the UK to sign contract for Eurofighter jets
The Ministry of National Defense stated, "Turkey and the UK will sign a technical and logistical support contract for the maintenance and operation of Eurofighter jets today."
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) issued a statement regarding the meeting held between Minister Yaşar Güler and UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey. It was reported that defense cooperation topics between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.
The statement also touched upon the steps previously taken within the framework of the Eurofighter Typhoon Project, confirming that the contract for the procurement of aircraft, equipment, and ammunition was signed in October 2025. Furthermore, it was stated that the parties reached an agreement to sign the technical and logistical support contract for the maintenance and operation of the aircraft today.
The following statements were included in the announcement made by the MSB:
'During the meeting held between our Minister of National Defense and the UK Secretary of State for Defence, defense cooperation issues were addressed. It was confirmed that the contract regarding the procurement of aircraft, equipment, and ammunition within the scope of the Eurofighter Typhoon Project was signed in October 2025; and an agreement was reached to sign the technical and logistical support contract for the maintenance and operation of the aircraft on March 25, 2026 (today). The parties expressed their will to further strengthen cooperation in the coming period.'
