Bribery investigation at the Ministry of National Defense: Detention warrants issued for 32 suspects
As part of an investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the procurement of benefits through certain permit documents requested from the Ministry of National Defense, 27 suspects have been detained.
Following coordinated efforts between the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation into Crimes by Public Officials and the Ministry of National Defense, an investigation was launched into findings that benefits were obtained in exchange for certain permit documents requested from the Ministry. Within the scope of this investigation, detention warrants were issued on October 8, centered in Ankara, for a total of 32 suspects—including 2 dismissed personnel, 1 retired institution employee, 2 relatives of these individuals, and 27 company officials—on charges of "giving and receiving bribes and mediating bribery." 27 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody as part of the investigation. It was reported that teams from the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau are continuing the procedures for transferring the suspects to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
