Bribery operation at hospital: 18 suspects in custody

The Samsun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into allegations that some doctors working at the Ondokuzmayıs University Health Application and Research Center were receiving bribes from patients, either directly or through medical companies.

Within the scope of the investigation, claims that the suspects obtained financial benefits through various methods and caused irregularities in the process of accessing certain public services are being examined.

SIMULTANEOUS RAIDS IN SAMSUN AND ORDU

Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch conducted simultaneous operations at addresses identified in the Atakum, İlkadım, Bafra, and Çarşamba districts of Samsun, as well as in Ordu, in line with the investigation.

It was learned that searches were conducted at numerous addresses during the operations.

A total of 18 suspects, including doctors identified as working at the Ondokuzmayıs University Health Application and Research Center—specifically I.K., Ü.B., M.G.Ö., and H.S.C.—were taken into custody as part of the operation.

The suspects were taken to the police station for processing.

ACCUSATIONS OF "BRIBERY" AND "QUALIFIED FRAUD"

It was reported that judicial proceedings have been initiated against the detained suspects on charges of "bribery," "qualified fraud," and "preventing the right to benefit from public services."
