Brown eggs to be pulled from supermarkets by 2030
Henner Schönecke, President of the Federal Association of German Egg Producers, announced that brown eggs will be completely removed from supermarket shelves within 5 years, replaced by white eggs. It is noted that the shift by producers toward white eggs is leading to a decline in brown eggs.
In Germany, white eggs will be sold in supermarkets instead of brown eggs.

Henner Schönecke, President of the Federal Association of German Egg Producers, announced that brown eggs are becoming increasingly scarce and could disappear entirely in the near future. Schönecke stated, "Nowadays, brown eggs are being produced less and less, and soon there may be none left in supermarkets." It was stated that because the chickens that produce white eggs have a longer lifespan, producers are shifting toward the production of white eggs, which are more efficient and economical, thereby disrupting the production of brown eggs.

Stating that 30 percent of eggs in supermarkets are currently brown, Schönecke announced that the transition to white eggs will be completed within 5 years. It was noted that while brown eggs will be completely removed from supermarkets by 2030, some regional businesses may continue to offer the product.
