Burak Çelik becomes the new chairman of the SHP

In a written statement issued by the SHP Founders' Board, it was stated that the party was officially established on June 28, following approximately 5 months of work, through the consensus of a High Advisory Board composed of figures who have previously been involved in politics within the SHP, DSP, and CHP.

The statement indicated that the party's new headquarters building will open for service this month, that numerous cinema artists, former and current mayors, bureaucrats, and active council members wish to join the party, and that the party will organize in 60 provinces to hold a congress in September.

"WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF DIVIDING ANY POLITICAL PARTY"

The statement, which expressed pride in presenting the party to the nation as a Kemalist and libertarian movement with a political understanding that embraces all segments of Turkey, included the following remarks:

"We have no intention of dividing, supporting, or causing any political party to lose. We want to open a new path for this nation. Our founding chairman is the late Erdal İnönü, and our leader is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. With the joint support of our 7-member High Advisory Board and the signatures of our founders' board, film producer and filmmaker Burak Çelik has been elected as the chairman of our party. He is a young, dynamic individual who has spent many years working as a consultant and on advertising campaigns for mayors and members of parliament, and he will convey the social democracy that is the legacy of Erdal İnönü to new generations and our nation."
