Call for support for Beyazıt Square from İmamoğlu

Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, issued a call for support on his social media account for the gathering to be held at Beyazıt Square on Wednesday, May 7.

İmamoğlu used the following expressions:

Dear Istanbulites,

I will be with you with all my heart at your magnificent gathering in front of the historic gate of my university in Beyazıt. 

I invite you all to this historic gathering at Beyazıt Square for the young people imprisoned through unjust and unlawful arrests, for the victimized families, to save the honor of our university, for justice, and for the future of our country.

The same mindset that canceled our mandate is the same mindset that canceled our diploma. We will fight together against this mindset that risks everything for the sake of ambition for power and its own interests. I have not taken anyone's rights, and I will not let anyone take mine. We will not let anyone take the rights of our nation and our youth either. 

I will be watching your gathering, which our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel will attend, and I will hear your voices and be with you against the handful of people who trample on law, science, morality, and conscience.
