Call to the government from Şamil Tayyar after the Super Cup match: 'We saw it at the ballot box on March 31'
Former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar stated in a post regarding the Super Cup match, from which Fenerbahçe withdrew, that the government must take action. Sharing on his X (Twitter) account, Tayyar said, "We saw at the ballot box on March 31 how this tension negatively affected voter behavior," and added, "I would like to remind you that the final solution for achieving normalization is still expected from the political institution. One could start with the Football Federation."
Fenerbahçe, which took the field with its U19 team for the Super Cup match against Galatasaray, protested the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) by withdrawing from the pitch.
Following the Yellow-Navies' decision to withdraw, former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar addressed the government.
Reminding the public of the election results, Tayyar stated that the government should intervene and that the TFF needs to change.
Publishing a statement on his social media account, Tayyar used the following expressions:
"Although the tension, fighting, conflict, and boycott in the football community may appear to be developments outside of politics, it is not a situation where the political sphere can remain a 'spectator' due to its regulatory role. We saw at the ballot box on March 31 how this tension negatively affected voter behavior. I would like to remind you that the final solution for achieving normalization is still expected from the political institution. For example... One could start with the Football Federation."
Futbol camiasındaki gerginlik, kavga, çatışma ve boykot, siyaset dışı gelişme gibi gözükse de düzenleyici rolü nedeniyle siyaset alanının ‘seyirci’ kalacağı bir durum değildir.
