Car crashes into utility pole in Kocaeli

The accident occurred at the intersection of Sapanca Yolu Street and Akçekese Street in the Maşukiye neighborhood, when a car lost control and crashed into an electric pole.

THE INJURED WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL

Due to the force of the impact, the driver, identified as M.Z., and passengers R.T., G.E., and A.E. were trapped inside the vehicle. The severed power lines fell to the ground. Upon notification by citizens who witnessed the accident to the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire, medical, police, and Sakarya Electricity Distribution (SEDAŞ) teams were dispatched to the area. The 4 injured individuals were extracted from the vehicle by the fire department teams that arrived at the scene.

The injured, who received initial medical intervention at the scene by paramedics, were transported to nearby hospitals.

SEDAŞ teams cut off the power supply to prevent any further incidents. The car, which was reduced to scrap metal in the accident, became unusable.

It is alleged that the accident occurred because of another vehicle that suddenly appeared in front of the driver, M.Z., while he was turning onto Akçakese Street.
