Car crashes into semi-truck in Gaziantep: Two people lose their lives

A car traveling in the direction of the Nizip district of Gaziantep struck a semi-truck from behind near Çaybaşı Neighborhood. In the accident, which occurred late at night, the driver of the car, 50-year-old İbrahim Açıkgöz, and his sons Ahmet (20) and Baran Açıkgöz (14), who were in the vehicle, were seriously injured.

Upon notification by those in the vicinity, health, fire, gendarmerie, and police teams were dispatched to the region. The teams that reached the scene extracted the injured from the wrecked car, provided initial medical intervention, and transported them to nearby hospitals.

Despite all efforts by doctors, İbrahim Açıkgöz and his son Ahmet could not be saved. While the news of the father and son's passing devastated their relatives, it was learned that the younger brother, Baran, is fighting for his life in intensive care.

The bodies of the deceased, İbrahim and Ahmet Açıkgöz, were delivered to their families after the completion of procedures at the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute. It was stated that the funerals would be buried in the afternoon in the Açıkgözler hamlet of Teketaş Neighborhood.

Hasan Ö. (27), who was involved in the accident and was driving the vehicle, has been taken into custody, and it was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
