Cargo manager who reported illegal cigarette shipment killed in armed attack

In an incident that occurred at a cargo branch located in the Huzurevleri neighborhood of Adana's Çukurova district, an unidentified person delivered a package containing illegal cigarettes to the cargo company. Branch manager Kamil Çelik, who was among the cargo staff, suspected the illegal contents of the shipment and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Following the report, police teams dispatched to the scene seized the illegal cigarettes as a result of their investigation. After these developments, the suspect, who is alleged to be the owner of the illegal shipment, returned to the cargo branch with several other individuals.

According to allegations, the suspect began arguing with Kamil Çelik at the location. As the argument escalated, the suspect drew his weapon, opened fire on Çelik, and fled the scene rapidly with his companions.

Following the incident, police and medical teams arrived at the cargo branch in a short time upon reports from bystanders. Seriously injured, Çelik was rushed to the hospital by medical teams. However, despite all interventions, Çelik could not be saved.

Police teams have launched an investigation to apprehend the suspects involved in the incident.
