In a written statement issued by the Ministry, it was stated that the decision to establish a ceasefire between Pakistan and India was welcomed, and the parties were called upon to "make maximum use of this opportunity provided by the ceasefire for the establishment of a direct and healthy dialogue."
The statement noted the following:
"It is evident that in order to make stability in South Asia sustainable, dialogue mechanisms that will prevent similar tensions, including in the field of counter-terrorism, must be established.
We extend our thanks to all countries that contributed to the realization of the ceasefire, especially the USA."
