Cem Küçük's commentary on 'Kavala' and 'Demirtaş': 'He will need the votes of 50 deputies'

Türkiye newspaper columnist Cem Küçük, known for his proximity to the government, stated that President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will not fall out with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.

Küçük stated, "I do not think Erdoğan will take a step back on the issues of Osman Kavala and Gezi. Such a thing would mean a rift with the MHP. Such a thing does not seem possible. It is true that there are issues on which Mr. Erdoğan has taken a step back. But those issues are mostly related to foreign policy. The AK Party, which wants to amend the Constitution, will surely need the votes of the MHP's 50 deputies," he said.

Regarding the close contact between the main opposition party and the ruling party, Küçük also said, "We know that an agreement between the AK Party and the CHP on the constitution will be difficult. But this does not mean they will not talk. The important thing is to talk and not remain at odds."
