Çetin Arslan elected as HSK member

Çetin Arslan has been elected as a member of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly.

Çetin Arslan elected as HSK member

In the TBMM General Assembly, an election was held for one membership seat from among three candidates nominated from faculty members serving in law departments of higher education institutions. The three candidates determined by the Joint Committee on Justice and Constitution were listed as: "Çetin Arslan, Ender Ethem Atay, Bayram Keskin."

369 deputies participated in the first round of voting held in the General Assembly. A two-thirds majority was required for the candidates. Çetin Arslan received 342 votes, Ender Ethem Atay 3, and Bayram Keskin 22 votes. 

In the second round of voting, a three-fifths majority was required. While 355 deputies cast their votes in this round, Çetin Arslan received 328 votes, Ender Ethem Atay 3, and Bayram Keskin 21 votes. 

One vote was blank, and two votes were invalid. In the third round of voting, the candidate to become the member was determined by drawing lots, and Çetin Arslan was elected as the new member of the HSK in the draw.
