Çetiner family, whose home was destroyed in the earthquake, defrauded of 400,000 TL

The Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes caused massive destruction in Hatay, where nearly 25,000 people lost their lives.

The home of the Çetiner family, who were caught in the earthquake in the Öz Kurtuluş neighborhood of Reyhanlı district, was also heavily damaged. According to allegations, the family, whose home was destroyed in the earthquake, reached an agreement with a contractor to build a prefabricated house, paying a 100,000 TL deposit.

It is alleged that in the following period, the contractor, who received a total of 400,000 TL from the family in installments, disappeared.                             

 Stating that he learned the individual was a fraudster through posts on social media, earthquake survivor Abdullah Çetiner said, "I was left helpless; I gave everything I had to these men."   

"They took the money and vanished into thin air"

Stating that the contractor they agreed with to build a prefabricated house after the earthquake disappeared after taking the money, Abdurrahman Çetiner said, "Our house was heavily damaged and destroyed in the February 6 earthquakes. Once it was destroyed, we started living in a container, and afterwards, we wanted to build a prefabricated house with the means we had. Together with a contractor my father found, they started working on a prefabricated house here. When they arrived, they started drawing up a project. They took a deposit of over 100,000 liras. Afterwards, they kept coming and asking for money. They asked for money every time they brought materials. They took more than 400,000 liras from me. I was left helpless; we gave everything we had to this man. This man has now blocked us everywhere; we cannot reach him in any way. They vanished into thin air and we cannot find them. We want this man to be found. We learned that he was a fraudster through a social media account," he said.
