Change affecting millions in vehicle inspections: Commission era for card payments is ending

A significant change is being made to the credit card commission practice for vehicle inspection fees, which has long been a source of frustration for vehicle owners in Turkey. TURKA, which will take over vehicle inspection services starting August 15, 2027, has announced that no additional commission will be charged for payments made with credit or debit cards.

Within the scope of the agreement reached as a result of negotiations with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, no additional fees will be requested from citizens who make card payments in the new era.

NO ADDITIONAL FEES FOR CARD PAYMENTS

With the new practice, drivers who pay their vehicle inspection fees with a credit or debit card will no longer pay the commission fee that has been applied until now.

In the statement made by TURKA, it was stated that vehicle owners will not face additional costs due to card payments.

NEW ERA TO BEGIN ON AUGUST 15, 2027

The new era in vehicle inspection services will begin on August 15, 2027. From this date on, services will be carried out by TURKA.

It was stated that the vehicle inspection infrastructure across Turkey will also be reshaped within the scope of the new system.

249 NEW GENERATION STATIONS TO BE ESTABLISHED IN 81 PROVINCES

According to the prepared plan, a total of 249 new-generation vehicle inspection stations will serve in 81 provinces of Turkey.

In addition to the 75 mobile stations included in the specifications, 100 more mobile stations will be put into operation in the first phase. Thus, it is aimed to increase service capacity, especially in regions where access to fixed stations is difficult.

Digital technologies will also be actively used in the new vehicle inspection system.

In this context, artificial intelligence-supported image processing systems, multi-point camera infrastructure, and laser scanners will be integrated into the inspection processes.
