Chemical factory emitting foul odor sealed

Following reports from citizens regarding a sharp odor that blanketed the neighborhood in the Başiskele Vezirçiftliği area during the day, teams were dispatched to the scene. AFAD and Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization teams were sent to the location shortly after the reports. While the teams conducted measurements, the source of the odor was identified after being tracked step-by-step for approximately 7 hours.

It was determined that acrylate material at the closed Tuana Boya ve Kimya facility had undergone a reaction. Fire, health, and police teams were also dispatched to the scene. It was determined that some citizens were affected by the odor. It was learned that the company, which produces antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, synthetic thinner, cellulosic thinner, and brake cleaner solution, was sealed by Başiskele Municipality teams.
