Children betrothed in 'cradle-to-cradle' arrangement taken into protective custody
The Governor's Office has issued a statement regarding a 'cradle-to-cradle' betrothal ceremony between relatives in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin.
In a statement issued by the Mardin Governor's Office, it was stated: "Our Governor's Office has issued instructions to our Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and our Provincial Police Department to investigate the matter immediately.
A temporary protective measure has been taken for the children in question, and they have been placed under state protection. The judicial and administrative investigation initiated regarding the matter is ongoing."
