CHP's Başarır reveals his expectation from Kılıçdaroğlu regarding the party congress investigation: 'Tear up that decision and...'

Participating in the "Açıkça" program on Halk TV, Başarır made statements regarding the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations of irregularity during the 38th Ordinary Congress, where CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was elected.

Başarır also responded to journalist Hilmi Hacaloğlu's question, "You are a name who worked very closely with Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu. What do you expect him to do today?"

Ali Mahir Başarır gave the following response to the question directed at him:

"From the youngest member of the Republican People's Party to the oldest living member, our membership count is approaching 2 million. What I want, what I expect, and what he should do is this:

We expect him to tear up that decision, come to Mr. Özgür's side, and say, 'Come on, we are standing tall against the coup, against the junta.' Every honorable Republican People's Party member would do this.

Let me tell you one more thing, look. We are the Republican People's Party. Seats and positions are not important at all. We have placed the honor of our party before our own honor. We will not do, and will not allow, anything that would upset 86 million people.

Therefore, I do not want to say anything about names, but the description I have drawn is this: everyone in this party who has served in this hearth, in this father's hearth, from our youth branch members to, as I said, our oldest provincial chairman, to our former chairmen, will all say, 'Get out of here! I will not surrender this party to the AKP's judiciary.' That's it."
