CHP Beykoz Municipal Council Member Burak Korkmaz released under judicial control
CHP Beykoz Municipal Council Member Burak Korkmaz, who was detained on allegations of making false posts on social media, has been released under judicial control.
The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation after Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel and Council Member Özgür Özçelik filed a complaint against Korkmaz, alleging that he made false and defamatory posts from a social media account.
Korkmaz was taken into custody by police teams.
Following the completion of his procedures at the police station, Korkmaz was taken to the Beykoz Courthouse.
After his statement was taken by the prosecutor's office, Korkmaz was referred to the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control.
The court decided to release the suspect under judicial control measures, which include a requirement to sign in and a travel ban.
