CHP Chairman Özel announces figure for pension
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who visited his party's provincial headquarters as part of his Uşak program, later addressed citizens from atop the party bus in front of Uşak Municipality. There, Özel made a statement regarding the figure that the pension should reach.
Stating that they will continue to embrace everyone, Özgür Özel said, "In this process, some want to open up completely different debates after March 31 and force the agenda into completely different places.
We will not fall for this game. We said it during the election period. Whatever is on the citizen's agenda is on my agenda. Whatever is not on the citizen's agenda is not on mine either."
"NOT A SOFTENING OR ANYTHING"
CHP Chairman Özel continued his words by saying, "Some say, 'CHP, normalization'. Yes, we say 'normalization'. It is not a softening or anything, we say 'normalization'. The normal thing is for politicians to talk.
The normal thing is to say 'come on, let's increase it' if the pension is low, to say 'let's raise the minimum wage'. To say 'let's solve the problems of the internship victims together'. It is my duty to discuss and negotiate the problems of retired non-commissioned officers and specialized sergeants. Of course, I will do these.
But if we cannot get results through negotiation, then we will struggle. The streets are ours, the squares are ours."

"THERE IS NO POLITICS IN THIS BUSINESS, MY BROTHER"
Özgür Özel reiterated his call for pensions. Pointing to his meeting with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Özel said, "I said it while talking to our President,
I also said it to Devlet Bey. I am telling all the politicians I meet. There is no politics in this business, my brother."
Stating "We will join hands," the CHP leader said, "We will first raise the pensioner's salary to the minimum wage."
"WE HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ANYONE"
Expressing that he will continue the struggle for pensioners, Özel said, "I do not get into Alevi-Sunni fights, or debates about 'DEM' or whatever, or right-left issues. Because we have no problem with anyone. We have no problem with anyone's clothing, lifestyle, belief, or sect.
Whoever loves their homeland and flag is in the Turkey Alliance. Period. But the pensioner who is an AK Party supporter and the one who is a DEM Party supporter cannot make ends meet with 10 thousand liras, my brother. The Alevi cannot make ends meet, nor can the Sunni. This is my issue.
I had promised the pensioners 'I will make your voice heard'. We won the election, there is no forgetting. I invite all pensioners in Turkey to Ankara Tandoğan Square on Sunday, May 26."

"WE DID NOT TAKE THESE MUNICIPALITIES TO GET OUR CHILDREN JOBS"
Asking party members to support the new mayors, Özel said, "Do not pressure them. They have debts, they have difficulties. There are people waiting for service. We did not take these municipalities to get our children jobs. Of course, that will happen too, but not through favoritism.
We did not take these municipalities to get rich. We took these municipalities to provide good service, to win the hearts of the citizens, and to make the party of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk the ruling power."
After his speech, Özel visited Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım in his office.
