CHP Chairman Özel issues condolence message for those who died from electric shock in İzmir

In a message shared on his social media account, Özel wished for God's mercy upon Özge Ceren Deniz and İnanç Öktemay, who lost their lives after being struck by an electric current during yesterday's heavy rainfall, and extended his condolences and patience to their families.

Stating that no citizen deserves to die in such a tragic way in the 21st century, Özel noted the following:

"The images that break our hearts remind us all of a very important responsibility. No one should take a position based on the identity, institution, or party of those responsible.

We are closely following the ongoing judicial and administrative investigations.

All investigations must be carried out meticulously so that similar tragedies do not happen again, and all those responsible must be held accountable.

We will be the followers of ensuring that those responsible receive the heaviest penalties they deserve."
