Gürsel Tekin, who was referred to disciplinary proceedings after being appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, made harsh statements. Tekin said, “No one can cast the CHP out of my heart. I am furious. You cannot expel me. The CHP should expel the informants, not me.”

“The parties to the case are CHP executives. The disputes had been going on for 1.5 years, and party executives did not intervene in the last 8 months in particular. At the end of the day, the people who applied for cancellation submitted a list of neutral names. If we hadn't accepted this, a trustee would have come. We are not trustees, we are a call committee.”

Recounting the events regarding the process, Tekin said, “Our dear provincial president Özgür Çelik was going to make a statement like this; ‘Tomorrow is our party's anniversary. On Wednesday, we will welcome our brother Gürsel at the door.’ We agreed on this. It didn't happen. I don't want to go into that. We fought desperately for 7 days. Because we are soldiers of a family. We will join hands, and if there is a problem, we will solve it together.”

GÜRSEL TEKİN CALLED THE MINISTRY 3 TIMES

Tekin continued his words with the following statements:

“If you notice, we got back on the minibus there. The barricade was formed later. I called the Minister of Interior 3 times. The Minister also rightly said that there were some calls. Would I want to enter my own father's house with the police? If you cut my veins, CHP loyalty flows.

I am not the one who asked for police at the CHP. I will invite our brothers who threw water to the provincial building. No one can question my CHP loyalty. I know that 90 percent of them are not CHP members.”

“THE CHP SHOULD EXPEL THE INFORMANTS, NOT ME”

Regarding his referral to disciplinary proceedings with a request for permanent expulsion, Gürsel Tekin said the following:

“I love our Chairman very much. We worked together for a long time. The Chairman went on television and said, 'I expelled him.' No one can cast the CHP out of my heart. I am furious. You cannot expel me. I would have expected from our Chairman, there are currently 305 of our friends in prison. Among them are our provincial presidents, our party assembly members, and many party executives. The reason they are in prison is that there are 73 informants. Then I turned around, 24 of them are CHP members. Now have some conscience. There is no lawsuit regarding these informants who caused the imprisonment of our friends. The CHP should expel the informants, not me.

Who filed the lawsuit? CHP members. Who provided the evidence? CHP members. Who provided the voice recordings? CHP members. Your friends are the informants. I have no contact with them at all. Why did you befriend them?

We are living in a strange period. While dozens, hundreds of our friends are in prison and we should be dealing with this, they are executing me. If they need to execute me, execute me, I will sacrifice myself. Executing me will not save the CHP. My mayor friend is afraid to call me.”
