CHP council member placed under house arrest for violence against women
In Bursa, B.T., a CHP municipal council member for Mustafakemalpaşa and president of the Cattle Breeders' Association, was detained by the gendarmerie on allegations of assaulting his sister. The council member was referred to the courthouse and placed under house arrest.
According to allegations, the incident took place in a building belonging to the parents of B.T. (51) in the rural Ovaazatlı neighborhood of Mustafakemalpaşa. During an argument over who would use a vacant apartment in the building, B.T. physically assaulted his sister, H.Ç. (60).

It was also alleged that some items in the house were damaged during the incident. While H.Ç. was injured as a result of the attack, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the address upon notification of the situation.
B.T., who was taken into custody by the gendarmerie, was brought to the Mustafakemalpaşa District Gendarmerie Command. B.T., who was held there overnight, was referred to the Mustafakemalpaşa Courthouse today.
B.T., who gave his statement before the judge, was sentenced to house arrest.
It was reported that the judicial process regarding the incident is ongoing.
