May Day call from CHP leader Özgür Özel! 'Do not leave the workers hanging'
CHP leader Özgür Özel delivered a speech at his party's parliamentary group meeting. Özel announced that Ayşe Sibel Yanıkömeroğlu, who resigned from the İYİ Party, has joined the CHP. Additionally, Özel introduced young people who joined his party under the "young member" initiative.
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel announced at his party's group meeting that Ayşe Sibel Yanıkömeroğlu, who resigned from the İYİ Party, has joined the CHP. Özel began his speech by announcing the participation of new members in his party.

In response to the CHP's "young member" call, Özgür Özel announced that twin brothers named Muhammet and Mustafa are the party's newest members, and then posed for a photo with them.
MEMBERSHIP CALL FROM ÖZEL
Highlights from Özel's statements are as follows:
"I am addressing young people who are not members of the CHP but are interested in it. Come and register with the party; the CHP needs you very much.
Ms. Ayşe heeded our call and returned to her father's home. We did not start this campaign today just for the local elections, but because we are running the campaign of the Turkey Alliance. I am now calling on all young people and all women, regardless of their political views in Turkey, to realize that hope lies in change. It is time to return to the father's home together—and it is called the father's home because it is the party founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. You know that when you are in trouble, you can return; you know the tea is brewed, the soup is boiling, and the chimney is smoking. I am launching a new membership campaign, starting with my provincial chairs in all 81 provinces, district chairs, women's branch district chairs, and youth branches, to keep that chimney smoking. We are opening the doors of the father's home wide open together. I am addressing young people here who are not members of the CHP but are interested: come, register, and engage in politics; we need you very much."
TAKSIM MESSAGE
Those who boasted when Taksim was opened for May Day are now banning it. They are giving unlawful orders to the police that are contrary to the Constitution. While the judiciary says, 'Let Taksim be open on May Day,' keeping it closed is nothing more than a complex and anxiety."
"OPEN THE SQUARE"
In his call to decision-makers, CHP leader Özgür Özel stated, "Open the square, show that you are confident. Do not leave the workers hanging."
Özel also noted the following:
"We will fight to the end until justice comes to this country, until everyone in this country feels like equal citizens, and until we end hunger and then poverty. The Republic of Turkey is a constitutional state. Among the articles we uphold, there may certainly be articles we criticize. Everyone must be bound by this constitution. If you take the parts that suit you and ignore the parts that do not, then that becomes a survival issue. Everyone in this country, from the simplest citizen to the President, must comply with the constitution.
"SHOW THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE MESSAGE OF MARCH 31"
May Day is Labor Day, a right that should be celebrated in Taksim. Workers want to go to Taksim on May Day. Now they are banning it, they are not allowing it. They are giving unlawful orders to the police, who are workers themselves. DİSK went to the Constitutional Court and won, but they still won't open it. If you see Taksim Square as a flag of your sovereignty, it means you are not actually powerful. If workers are seeking their rights there and then returning home, that means you are powerful. Open Taksim for May Day. Allowing it to be celebrated without letting a single non-May Day banner inside is the most correct thing the current government can do for itself. If you ban it, maybe you will leave it to another May Day. But then you will not be in power. Open Taksim for May Day and show that you have received the message of March 31.
WORDS ON ÇETIN DOĞAN
Unfortunately, another unpleasant matter is that 83-year-old Çetin Doğan was transferred to Silivri Prison. It is not fitting to keep him in prison during these difficult days. This is not power; this is weakness. State authority is not established by dealing with 80-90-year-old patients. Keeping elderly patients in prison is a lack of self-confidence.
REACTION TO ERDOĞAN REGARDING TEACHER APPOINTMENTS
There are more than 1 million teachers who have not been appointed. If there were 68 thousand teachers in 2002, today there are 1 million teachers that Erdoğan has not appointed. Mr. Erdoğan said we will make some appointments. This figure is 23 thousand 900. Unfortunately, it greatly saddened the youth. 100 thousand teacher appointments need to be made.
PROMISE OF A 60 PERCENT VOTE MARGIN FOR HATAY
Even if we didn't win Hatay, we will not leave it alone. I swear and promise here that we will show how we will follow the municipality and the government, how we will conduct constructive but firm opposition, and that in the next election, we will not win Hatay by a small margin, but by a 60 percent margin.
A NEW APPEAL WILL BE MADE FOR 'KOCAGÖZ'
Unfortunately, one of our citizens lost their life in the cable car accident in Kepez, Antalya. Our mayor (Mesut Kocagöz) is being held responsible for the accident, despite the system having been inspected 3 times after his tenure. Now a new video has emerged. The operator was running the system manually when they shouldn't have, and the accident occurred. They shut the system down manually. We will file a new appeal."
