AKP, MHP, and DEM's 'process alliance' discussed at CHP Central Executive Board: 'The third way for Kurdish voters is the CHP'

The Republican People's Party (CHP) Central Executive Board (MYK) met in the shadow of the volatile political agenda. During the meeting, in addition to the operations conducted against CHP-run municipalities, the "opening process" was also discussed. CHP sources assessed that the process the government is trying to carry out under the name "Turkey Without Terrorism" aims to "extend President Erdoğan's political life."

According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from Birgün, the meeting also addressed the remarks of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who said, "The AK Party, MHP, and DEM, we have decided to walk together on this path, at least as a trio." The CHP wing expressed the view that this development would turn into a new constitutional amendment initiative. The same sources stated, "Erdoğan defined the alliance he just announced as a 'process alliance.' This process also includes a constitutional amendment."

Noting that the CHP would not sit at the constitutional table under any circumstances, CHP members said, "The third way for Kurdish voters is the CHP."

CHP sources emphasized that the party's perspective on the Kurdish issue has not changed from the past to the present and remains clear. Underlining that they would not change their position based on the policies of the AKP or the DEM Party, the party officials said, "The government is trying to solve this process by keeping the CHP out. However, what they are overlooking is the CHP's influence on Kurdish voters."

COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY PREPARED

According to the information obtained, a large-scale survey study has been initiated to understand the tendencies of Kurdish voters. In the research conducted across Turkey, participants were asked various questions ranging from their voting preferences to their sense of belonging to their cities. The survey also included their views on the PKK laying down arms. It was reported that the CHP will discuss the results of this study at the MYK meeting to be held on July 21 and will develop new policies based on the data that emerges.

CONDITIONAL PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMISSION ON THE AGENDA

The "Turkey Without Terrorism" commission, which is planned to be established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), was also discussed at the meeting. According to the information obtained, some party executives argued that they should not be included in the commission. Reminding that the party has been left out throughout the process, these individuals expressed the view that "If we join the commission, we would be legitimizing a process from which the CHP was excluded." Conversely, it was stated that the dominant tendency within the party is, "If our conditions are accepted, we must definitely be in the commission." The conditions put forward by the CHP include the clauses "Qualified majority should be sought" and "There should be equal representation." The officials also pointed out that concrete steps toward democratization are essential for the process to be successful.

OPERATIONS AGAINST MUNICIPALITIES

The MYK meeting also addressed the roadmap to be followed against the operations organized against CHP-run municipalities. Party members stated that the perception that "the CHP loses its motivation over time and withdraws from the streets" has been debunked, and they said they would continue their actions decisively.

The following assessments stood out at the meeting:

"The organic mass we have gathered in the cities for the action is increasingly growing the struggle. We will not withdraw from the streets, and we will not conduct politics within the boundaries drawn by the AKP. If the AKP insists on lawlessness, we will insist on the struggle. We want the ballot box in front of us on November 2. The government is living its final days. No matter what they do, the people have made their decision. They will be gone in the first election. Our desire is that the wreckage they leave behind does not grow even larger."
