CHP Deputy Chair and Women's Branch Chair Aylin Nazlıaka recalled the events that took place before the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray match, which was scheduled to be played yesterday in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, but was postponed. Nazlıaka said, "We will never, ever forgive those who made us experience this shame."
CHP Deputy Chair and Women's Branch Chair Nazlıaka began the press conference she held at her party's headquarters by recalling the events that took place before the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray match, which was scheduled to be played yesterday in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, but was postponed.
Condemning those who showed the audacity to display hostility toward the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Nazlıaka stated, "Hours before the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray match scheduled to be played in Riyadh yesterday, we were faced with a disgrace. Our clubs were not allowed to take the field for the Super Cup match wearing Atatürk t-shirts. This is not a situation for which we need permission. We have already written him into our hearts. But we will never, ever forgive those who made us experience this shame."
Reminding that the executives of the two clubs displayed an honorable stance and decided not to play the match, Nazlıaka said that with this attitude, the clubs showed that no bargaining can be made over Atatürk.
