Following Yavaş's decision, it is widely considered certain that the CHP's presidential candidate will be Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. According to a report by Ceren Bayar from Gazete Duvar, İmamoğlu has already begun preparations for both the primary process and the presidential election.

It has been learned that after CHP leader Özel announced the primary election calendar, İBB Mayor İmamoğlu will declare his candidacy. Party insiders stated, "İmamoğlu will be in the field as a primary candidate until March 23 and will organize city tours."

Insiders reported that after the primary election, once İmamoğlu's candidacy is finalized, his work and campaign as the presidential candidate will begin, and preparations for this campaign are currently underway.

Noting that there is a "strong team" managing İmamoğlu's campaign efforts, sources close to him said that work is being conducted on every topic, from the campaign program to policy promises.
