CHP's 'absolute nullity' administration dismisses women's branch in that province
The purge process that began in the CHP following the 'absolute nullity' ruling continues. Most recently, Giresun Provincial Women's Branch Chair Ayşegül Ejderoğlu and the provincial board were dismissed, drawing successive reactions from party officials and a member of parliament.
The 'absolute nullity' administration led by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed as CHP Chairman by court order, continues to make personnel changes within the party organizations.
In this context, CHP Giresun Provincial Women's Branch Chair Ayşegül Ejderoğlu and the provincial women's branch board were dismissed from their duties.
DISMISSAL NOTICE SENT TO PROVINCIAL PRESIDENCY
In the letter sent by the 'absolute nullity' administration to the CHP Giresun Provincial Presidency, signed by CHP Women's Branches Chair Ayten Gülsever, the following statements were included:
“As a result of the evaluation made in accordance with the provisions of the CHP Charter and the Women's Branches Regulation, the duties of the Women's Branch Provincial Chair and the Provincial Board have been terminated. The letter and its annexes regarding the aforementioned action have been sent to your Provincial Presidency by mail. In order to ensure that operations are not disrupted, we kindly request that you take the necessary actions regarding the coordination of the change of duty, inform the relevant persons, and ensure the proper handover of the decision books, seals, fixtures, and other institutional materials belonging to the Provincial Women's Branch.”
REACTION FROM GÖKHAN ŞENYÜREK
Dismissed CHP Giresun Provincial Chair Gökhan Şenyürek reacted to the decision in a post on his social media account.
Şenyürek stated the following in his announcement:
“First they dismissed our Provincial and Central District boards, and now they have targeted our Provincial Women's Branch Chair and her board. Because they know very well that they cannot take over the will of the organization without the women of the Republican People's Party withdrawing from the struggle. They are afraid of the determination, courage, and organized power of women.
However, they are mistaken. You may usurp positions, seize seals, and issue dismissal decisions with signatures. But you can never take over the struggle of our women, the solidarity of our organization, and the people's will for change. We stand with our Provincial Women's Branch Chair and her board. This decision is of no concern to us, nor are those who made this decision our interlocutors.
The true owners of the Republican People's Party are not those trying to design politics in the shadow of the palace, but the organized members who struggle on the streets, in the squares, and among the people. We will resist together, we will struggle together, and we will overcome this dark mentality all together.”
SUPPORT MESSAGE FROM ELVAN IŞIK GEZMİŞ
CHP Giresun MP Elvan Işık Gezmiş also reacted to the dismissal decision in a post on her social media account.
Gezmiş stated the following in her announcement:
“Today, we learned that our elected Giresun Provincial Women's Branch Chair Ayşegül Ejderoğlu has been dismissed. The hardworking women of our organization are our comrades who have selflessly shouldered the struggle of the Republican People's Party for years in neighborhoods, villages, streets, and squares. I will continue to stand by our hardworking Women's Branch provincial and district boards and our female comrades today and tomorrow, just as I did yesterday.”
