CHP's Bak shares treatment of citizen who voiced protest: 'Stated that the AKP is lying'

At an AKP provincial advisory board meeting, a citizen expressed their protest on the grounds that promises made were not kept.

However, this outburst was not welcomed by AKP Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, and the citizen was forcibly removed from the hall by security guards.

Bringing the footage in question to his social media account, CHP Trabzon Provincial Chair Mustafa Bak expressed his reaction with the following words:

"What is discussed at the AKP's provincial advisory board does not concern us, but what happens inside concerns our people very closely. A citizen stands up at the meeting and, in pain, shouts, 'I have voted for the AKP for 23 years, and now you are lying to me!' So, what does Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, who sits in that seat with the votes of the people, do? Instead of listening to the citizen and finding a remedy for their troubles, he gives the order, 'Take him out!' and that veteran citizen is thrown out by the scruff of his neck by security guards.

While this shameful scene was unfolding inside, MPs Adil Karaismailoğlu and Vehbi Koç, as well as Provincial Chair Sezgin Mumcu, should have bowed their heads and reflected. They should have asked themselves, 'Why is this citizen so angry with us? Why didn't we keep the promises we made to this nation? Why did we fall into the position of liars in the eyes of the citizen?' But instead of doing that, they preferred to take the podium one by one and resort to perception operations, slandering the CHP, and smear politics.

I am saying this clearly to AKP Provincial Chair Mr. Mumcu here. Stop slandering the opposition and creating artificial agendas. It is not us saying this; it is Uncle Temel, your voter of 23 years, who is looking you in the eye and shouting, 'You are lying!' First, turn around and answer this cry. You are used to it, of course; throwing those you cannot defeat at the ballot box into prison, and throwing those who seek their rights and speak out out of the hall! However, never forget this: This noble nation, whose back you have turned on, whose voice you have silenced, and whom you have thrown out by the scruff of their neck, will throw you out of the door at the ballot box in the first election in such a way that you will have no face left to show in public!"
