CHP's Yavuzyılmaz refutes Ministry's cable car denial with official document: 'I am sharing the approval certificate'
CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, in a statement made in the area where rescue operations were carried out in Antalya, reported that the maintenance and repair work for the cable car was performed by a company approved and certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Following the denial from the Ministry, Yavuzyılmaz proved the accuracy of his claim by sharing an official document.
Yavuzyılmaz stated, "The last annual maintenance was conducted between February 19 and March 4, 2024. This maintenance contract and the resulting reports have been reviewed by us; the deficiencies identified during the maintenance were addressed, and consequently, the maintenance report was put into effect.
At the same time, weekly and monthly maintenance checks were also carried out," he said.
MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY DENIES
In a statement released on the Ministry's social media account, it was noted, "In the statement made by CHP Deputy Chairman Mr. Deniz Yavuzyılmaz regarding the incident where one of the poles carrying the cable car line in Antalya's Konyaaltı district collapsed, it was claimed that 'the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality had the cable car maintenance performed by a company approved and certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.'
There is no such thing as the company in question being approved or certified by the Ministry of Industry and Technology to perform cable car maintenance.
Mr. Yavuzyılmaz's statements do not reflect the truth," the statement read.
CHP'S YAVUZYILMAZ SHARES APPROVAL CERTIFICATE
Following the denial of his statement by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Deniz Yavuzyılmaz made a new post on his social media account and shared the approval certificate issued by the Ministry of Industry and Technology to the company that performed the maintenance on the cable car facility.

Yavuzyılmaz added the following note to his post:
"I am sharing the approval certificate issued by the Ministry of Industry and Technology to the company that performed the maintenance of the cable car facility in Antalya where the accident occurred.
