CHP's Yavuzyılmaz responds to Turkish Petroleum with documents: 'Denials must be answered with evidence'
CHP's Deniz Yavuzyılmaz responded with documents to the statements made by Turkish Petroleum regarding helicopter rental payments. Turkish Petroleum denied the document shared by Yavuzyılmaz, but Yavuzyılmaz stated, "They must respond to a document with a document."
CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz brought to the agenda the staggering payments made by a subsidiary of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) to a Qatar-partnered helicopter rental company. Yavuzyılmaz stated that he strongly refuted the explanation provided by Turkish Petroleum and responded with documents.
DOCUMENT SHARED REGARDING HELICOPTER RENTAL PAYMENTS
Yavuzyılmaz disclosed the rental payments made by a subsidiary of TPAO to a Qatar-partnered helicopter rental company. According to the shared documents, the company paid 36,000 dollars per day per helicopter, amounting to 1 million 116 thousand dollars per month. Yavuzyılmaz pointed out that these payments correspond to 552 million 668 thousand 400 TL at the current exchange rate.
DENIAL STATEMENT FROM TURKISH PETROLEUM
Despite the documents shared by Yavuzyılmaz, TPAO claimed that the payments were distorted. The company stated that a total of 6 helicopters were used for the logistics of maritime assets operating in the Sakarya Gas Field. According to the claims, two of these helicopters were registered in the Turkish Petroleum inventory, while four were leased under the Offshore Services Contract.

DETAILS OF THE STATEMENT MADE BY THE COMPANY
In the statement, it was argued that the rental fee paid for the four helicopters was not 36,000 dollars per day, but 8,667 dollars. Furthermore, it was stated that the financial analyses of the contracts were well below regional averages. It was claimed that helicopter rental fees in the Middle East and Europe are around 15,000 to 20,000 dollars. The company requested that the public not give credence to unrealistic claims.
DOCUMENTED RESPONSE FROM YAVUZYILMAZ
Deniz Yavuzyılmaz provided a video response to the statement issued by Turkish Petroleum. Stating, "They must respond to a document with a document," Yavuzyılmaz brought the documents in his possession back to the agenda. In response to Turkish Petroleum's claims, Yavuzyılmaz stated that the helicopter rental payment made in October 2024 for the drilling ship named Yavuz was 36,000 dollars per day for 31 days, totaling 1,116,000 dollars per month.

“HERE IS THE DOCUMENT, HERE IS OUR RESPONSE TO THE DENIAL”
In his video statement, Yavuzyılmaz gave a clear response to Turkish Petroleum's denial. Saying, "I am responding to the denial statement made by TPAO," he presented the payment amounts in question with documentation. Yavuzyılmaz emphasized that the company's statement was insufficient, adding, "Those who want to respond to us must respond to a document with a document."
