Swift response from CHP to Erdoğan's remarks! 'Will you be held accountable for these?'

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has joined the "executioner" debate ongoing between the CHP and the DEM Party.

In his speech at his party's group meeting today, Erdoğan targeted the CHP leadership and stated the following:

"Now they have come out and are accusing people, like their predecessor Kılıçdaroğlu whose name they can no longer even bear to hear, of being executioners. What is it? That the DEM Party's contribution to the process of a terror-free Turkey is Stockholm Syndrome. One should have a little shame. Even if you don't know your country, even if you have no knowledge of the economy or foreign policy, one should at least know their own record. Have you never read the history of the CHP, which is full of stains of shame, throughout your life? You may not know who the executioner is and who the victim is, but my Kurdish brother knows. If Mr. Özel wants to see an executioner, he should look in the mirror. He should look at the history of the CHP."

FIRST RESPONSE FROM CHP CAME FROM MURAT EMİR

Following these statements by Erdoğan, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir responded by making a post on the social media platform X.

Emir addressed Erdoğan with these words:   

"You act as if you are not the one who appoints trustees.

You act as if you are not the one who has elected mayors arrested.

You act as if you are not the one who put the process on ice when your votes dropped.

You act as if you are not the one who says 'There is no Kurdish issue.'

You act as if you are not the one who did not apologize for Roboski.

You act as if you are not the one who said 'We will make our move and finish the job' despite ECHR rulings and keeps elected politicians in prison.

You act as if you are not the one who invented the 'crime of getting Kurds into the municipal council in the West.'

Because there is no memory in his media, he thinks there is none in anyone else."

On the other hand, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır also responded to Erdoğan. Speaking at a press conference he held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Başarır stated the following:

"The President went as far back as the Independence Tribunals. He went back to 2005, to 2001. He went back to the 2010s. There were messages regarding the Kurdish issue, he said 'My Kurdish brother.' 

I am asking our Kurdish citizens, and I am asking the President who has been dealing with this business for 25 years.

Why is Ahmet Türk not in office right now? Why is Selahattin Demirtaş imprisoned? Why are 10 municipalities being managed by trustees today? Will you be able to be held accountable for these?

You did this in 2005, you did this in 2015, you did this in 2001, but in the 2023 elections, you made fake videos of Karayılan, divided this country, and won the election without saying 'my Kurdish brother' to this public. What happened? They spin around according to time, place, and conjuncture. Whatever we said yesterday, we are saying the same thing today. 

When we asked why Demirtaş was arrested, we were traitors; today we are still asking why he is imprisoned. Why is Ahmet Türk, who was acquitted, not in office? Mr. President, what are you talking about?

You are criticizing us with sentences given to you by the Directorate of Communications that you heard wrong.

Are you complaining about me to the voters of Demirtaş, for whom millions of people voted? Get out of here."
