Cigarette butt thrown on the roadside caused a fire in Balıkesir
In an incident that occurred in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir, a cigarette butt thrown on the roadside ignited dry grass, causing a fire. The fire was extinguished by teams from the Parks and Gardens Directorate who happened to be passing by.
The incident in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir took place on the side of the E-87 highway, which connects Çanakkale and İzmir.
The fire, which started when a lit cigarette butt thrown on the ground ignited dry grass, was extinguished by the intervention of teams from the Ayvalık Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate, who happened to be passing by and immediately opened the valves of their water tanker.
The Parks and Gardens Directorate teams, who extinguished the flames in a short time, earned the appreciation of citizens who witnessed the event for their responsive behavior.
