Claim regarding Turkish company in India plane crash denied

Following the plane crash in India, claims that the maintenance of the Boeing 787-8 passenger aircraft that crashed was performed by a Turkish company have been denied by the Presidency's Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM).

In a statement made via social media, the DMM stated that the claim that "the maintenance of the Boeing 787-8 type aircraft was performed by Turkish Technic" regarding the Air India plane that crashed during takeoff does not reflect the truth.

The statement emphasized that the agreements made between Air India and Turkish Technic in 2024 and 2025 only covered the maintenance of B777 wide-body aircraft, and that the crashed Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was outside the scope of this agreement.

It was also stated that Turkish Technic has not performed maintenance on this type of Air India aircraft to date.

''WE SINCERELY SHARE THEIR GRIEF''

The statement, which emphasized that the grief of the Indian people is sincerely shared, included the following: 'While we are aware of which company performed the final maintenance on the crashed aircraft, it is outside our purview to make a statement on this matter so as not to be the subject of further assessments. As the Center for Combating Disinformation, we will continue to monitor activities aimed at damaging the reputation of our flagship brands that represent Turkey in the international arena and to take the necessary measures. As the Turkish nation, we express that we sincerely share the grief of the Indian people regarding this tragic plane crash.'
