Clear message from Dervişoğlu to Numan Kurtulmuş regarding the 'opening' process! Will he join the commission?

Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş visited political parties ahead of the election for the Speaker of the Parliament for the second term of the 8th Legislative Period.

Kurtulmuş, who visited the DEM Party in the morning, made the İYİ Party his second stop.

'IT IS A CONTRIBUTION TO DEMOCRACY'

Speaking at a joint press conference after the visit with İYİ Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Kurtulmuş said:

"We are continuing our visits to political parties today. The meeting of different views is a contribution to democracy. We have mutually shared our views on Turkey's current issues and in the context of the ongoing creation of a 'Terror-Free Turkey.' I would like to express that I find this meeting positive."

Speaking after Kurtulmuş, İYİ Party leader Dervişoğlu addressed the new 'opening' process that the government has named 'Terror-Free Turkey.'

Dervişoğlu said, "All the stances we have expressed so far regarding the 'Terror-Free Turkey' issue remain valid today. Everyone living in this country wants a Terror-Free Turkey; there is no one who would not want a Terror-Free Turkey, but I have expressed to the honorable Speaker of Parliament our objection to the idea of laying the foundation stones of a 'Terror-Free Turkey' under the guidance of a terrorist organization. To date, the honorable Speaker of Parliament is the only person from the state level who has provided us with information on this subject. The public needs information with a high degree of accuracy on this matter. I believe that sensitivity will be shown in that regard as well."

WILL HE PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMISSION'S WORK?

When asked whether they would participate in the commission's work, Dervişoğlu gave the following response:

"It is not possible for me to understand which commission you are referring to. On one hand, there is talk of a Constitutional commission, and on the other, there is a commission proposed by the chairman of a political party. Our door is not closed to dialogue, but there are things that need to be realized with highly accurate information from our perspective. For that reason, I do not want to make profound comments based on shallow information.

BAHÇELİ'S CALL FOR A COMMISSION

The reasons for our opposition to the formation of the commission desired by the chairman of that party are clear. We are also expressing our concerns in higher-level contacts.

I have not heard anything from Bahçeli's own mouth; there is a written statement. If he speaks himself, I will filter out what he means from between the codes in his expressions."
