Collapse at construction site foundation in Ankara: One worker loses his life
A collapse that occurred during foundation excavation at a construction site in Ankara's Yenimahalle district has resulted in the death of a worker. The site manager has been taken into custody by law enforcement regarding the incident.
A collapse occurred during foundation work for a new building under construction in the Macun neighborhood of Ankara's Yenimahalle district. The incident took place today around 12:00 PM on 230th Street. Abdullah Ahmed El Selim, a Syrian national working at the construction site, was trapped under soil during the collapse.
Upon notification, AFAD, fire department, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Following the intervention by the teams, the lifeless body of the Syrian worker was recovered. El Selim's body was sent to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.
Following the collapse, the site manager was taken into custody by the police, and it was reported that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
