Condolence message from Mansur Yavaş regarding the fire in Gayrettepe
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has issued a message of condolence regarding the tragedy at the 'Masquerade' nightclub in Gayrettepe, which has claimed the lives of 29 people so far.
The fire broke out at around 1:00 PM at the Masquerade nightclub, located on the basement floor of a 16-story building on Gönenoğlu Street in the Esentepe neighborhood of Yıldız Posta Avenue in Gayrettepe.
An explosion occurred next to the stage while renovations were being carried out. Following the explosion, flames engulfed the nightclub.
Numerous messages of condolence have been shared regarding the fire, in which 29 citizens lost their lives. ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş also shared a post on his social media account regarding the fire that occurred in Gayrettepe.
Yavaş wrote the following regarding the disaster:
"I wish God's mercy upon our 29 citizens who lost their lives in the fire that occurred in Gayrettepe, Istanbul, and I extend my condolences to their families. I hope that there will be no further loss of life.
I am deeply saddened."
