Confession from a self-proclaimed PKK leader: 'This process paves the way for the establishment of a Kurdish state'

The İmralı talks, which came to the agenda with the remarks of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, have reignited debates over the terrorist organization PKK laying down its arms. Claims that PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan will call on the organization to lay down its arms have led to various assessments in political circles.

Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk wrote in his column on the subject that the process is not limited to Turkey alone and is directly linked to developments in Syria.

''THE DISSOLUTION OF THE PKK IS A PLAN TO PAVE THE WAY FOR THE YPG''

In his article, Öztürk pointed out that there are PKK members in the senior management of the YPG, the armed wing of the PYD.

Pointing to the statement made the other day by Mazlum Kobani, one of the well-known commanders of the YPG, that "If the PKK is dissolved, there will be no justification for Turkey to attack us," Öztürk stated that the process is directly linked to the developments in northern Syria.

He conveyed the following assessment of a high-level official regarding the issue:

"Dissolving the PKK and making them lay down their arms is a game being played to ensure the comfortable establishment of a Kurdish state in Rojava, Syria. If the PKK effectively ceases to exist, there will be no justification for Turkey to conduct military operations against the PYD/YPG presence in northern Syria. Thus, operations like Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch will be prevented, and the construction of a Kurdish state in Syria will accelerate."

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT ON THE AGENDA

Saygı Öztürk stated in his article that the process is not limited to security policies and is also creating significant balances in the political arena.

Accordingly, a DEM Party deputy stated that they would determine how they would approach the AK Party's constitutional amendment process based on whether the developments go as they wish and the concessions the government makes during this process.

Öztürk concluded his article by saying, "Let's see what our great state will do against these subtle plans; we will wait and see."
