Constitutional Court files criminal complaint against 7 political parties for obstructing financial audits

The Constitutional Court's (AYM) decisions regarding the financial audits of 7 political parties have been published in the Official Gazette.

According to the decisions, the 2021 financial audits of the Dayatmasız Yaşam Partisi, As Parti, Anadolu Birliği Partisi, Ayyıldız Partisi, Yeni Yol Partisi, Doğuş Partisi, and Liberal Parti were conducted.

The High Court stated that for these parties' 2021 final accounts, based on the available information and documents, it was impossible to establish an accountable record and document system for the Constitutional Court, and that the realization of income and expenses outside of the accounts constituted actions aimed at obstructing examination and investigation; therefore, the audit of the headquarters' accounts could not be completed.

The court unanimously decided to file a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to initiate legal proceedings against the party officials in accordance with the Law on Political Parties No. 2820.
