Constitutional Court ruling: Türkiye Gençlik Partisi dissolved

The Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals filed a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court for the automatic dissolution and termination of the legal existence of the Türkiye Gençlik Partisi, on the grounds that it failed to hold its first major congress on time and did not form its mandatory bodies.

Within the scope of the case, the High Court requested a defense from the party, but no defense was submitted within the allotted time.

Reviewing the file, the Constitutional Court ruled that the party is considered dissolved and its legal existence has ended, in accordance with Article 121 of the Law on Political Parties No. 2820 and Article 87 of the Turkish Civil Code No. 4721. Furthermore, it was decided that all of the party's assets be transferred to the Treasury as required by law.
