Construction activities halted in Bodrum

The Bodrum peninsula has temporarily put a stop to construction work to prevent noise and visual pollution as the summer season begins. Under this ban, which will be in effect from May 15 to October 15, ongoing construction projects in the district will be required to halt their activities. Administrative sanctions will be applied to firms that do not comply with the rules.

Bodrum Hoteliers Association President Ömer Faruk Dengiz, in his statement on the matter, said, "The construction ban, which is applied between May 15 and October 15, has begun. We are going through an important period, and we must be very careful. We need to host tourists in the best way possible. We must provide the best service. We do not have the luxury of making a mistake here."

Hoteliers state that with the temporary end of construction activities, the season will be guest-focused. Sharing his thoughts, Dengiz said, "In addition to this, the infrastructure works of the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality are still ongoing. We have held meetings with the relevant institution. They will accelerate the process. They have finished the work in some neighborhoods. We are following up on other neighborhoods. We believe that the infrastructure works will be completed as we enter the summer. Now it is our turn; as hoteliers, we have entered the tourism season. Tourism is a serious sector that brings foreign currency to Bodrum."

While officials in the region emphasize that the ban is being closely monitored by tourism professionals and local residents, they state that all measures will continue to be taken to ensure that the summer months in Bodrum pass in a peaceful and comfortable manner.
