Controversial catering tender at Başakşehir Municipality

The tender held by Başakşehir Municipality for personnel catering services has come to the fore due to the difference between the bids. It has emerged that the municipality, under the administration of AKP's Yasin Kartoğlu, chose a higher-priced bid instead of the lowest one.

According to the report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, a total of 17 companies participated in the personnel catering tender. Seven of the companies that participated in the tender were excluded from the evaluation on the grounds that they submitted incomplete documentation.

Striking differences emerged among the bids submitted by the remaining 10 companies. It was stated that the bids of 6 of the companies ranged between 50 million lira and 117 million lira.

TENDER AWARDED TO 135 MILLION LIRA BID

It was noted that the bids of the other 4 companies in the tender were between 135 million lira and 244 million lira. It was reported that Başakşehir Municipality awarded the tender to Temaş Gıda AŞ, which submitted a bid of 135 million lira.

PREVIOUS TENDERS HAD ALSO BEEN ON THE AGENDA

The catering tenders previously held by Başakşehir Municipality had also been debated in the public eye. It was stated that the catering tenders held in 2021 and 2022 were awarded to a company owned by an AKP member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council for 13 million 477 thousand lira and 14 million 594 thousand lira, respectively.

It was also stated that some tenders were awarded to a company owned by the father of an AKP Başakşehir Municipal Council member.

It was noted that the park construction tender held in 2020 was also awarded to the company of an AKP Başakşehir Neighborhood President for 14 million 709 thousand lira.
