Criminal organization led by Durmuş Görmez dismantled

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that an organized crime group was dismantled in "Mahzen-49" operations conducted across 9 provinces centered in Çankırı, and that 30 suspects were apprehended.

Criminal organization led by Durmuş Görmez dismantled

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that the organized crime group led by Durmuş Görmez was dismantled in the operations carried out.

Providing information that 30 suspects, including the ringleader, were apprehended, Yerlikaya noted the following:

"I want our dear nation to know that we are determined to cleanse our country of organized crime groups and gangs. No matter how large they are, we will dismantle organized crime groups and deliver them to justice. As a result of the work carried out by the Çankırı Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's KOM Department, it was determined that the suspects, who are members of the organized crime group, committed crimes including establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, threats, intimidation, shooting at workplaces for the purpose of extortion, drug trafficking, and illegal arms trafficking in operations conducted in Çankırı, Ankara, Istanbul, Rize, Kastamonu, Kırıkkale, Çorum, Düzce, and Sakarya."

Minister Yerlikaya pointed out that 15 unlicensed pistols, 10 unlicensed rifles, a large number of promissory notes and cash, and various amounts of narcotics were seized as a result of the operations, and congratulated the police forces who carried out the operations.
