Critical meeting between Erdoğan and Macron

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron. During the meeting, Turkey-France relations, the Russia-Ukraine war, the latest developments in Gaza, and other important issues on the global agenda were discussed.

RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR AND PEACE EFFORTS

President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey continues its intensive efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia with a just peace. Erdoğan also stated that they are closely monitoring the contacts in Alaska and Washington. The message that Turkey is ready to host peace talks was also conveyed during the meeting.

HUMANITARIAN DISASTER IN GAZA AND ISRAEL'S POLICIES

During the meeting, Erdoğan brought up the severe humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Gaza. The President stated that they are "making efforts to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza," described Israel's stance, which accelerates its occupation plans, as "recklessness," and underscored that this course of action must be reined in.

EMPHASIS ON TURKEY-FRANCE RELATIONS

The two leaders agreed to evaluate the issues discussed in New York within the scope of the UN Summit in more detail. Erdoğan expressed that Turkey attaches importance to the development of relations with France and that they will continue to strengthen cooperation in many areas, especially in the defense industry.
