Critical turning point in Hormuz: Gradual reopening formula
It has been suggested that diplomatic contacts have accelerated in the Strait of Hormuz crisis, which affects global energy markets and maritime trade. While it is claimed that a significant basis for consensus has been formed regarding the controlled resumption of maritime traffic in talks involving Pakistani mediators, all eyes are now on Iran's response to the 14-point proposal package presented by the US.
It has been stated that diplomatic contacts regarding the Strait of Hormuz crisis, which has raised tensions in the Gulf region, have intensified. It was reported that a new round of talks has begun between the parties due to developments directly affecting energy shipments and global trade routes in the region.
Speaking to the UAE-based Al Arabiya, Pakistani sources stated that the issue of resuming maritime traffic is the priority topic in the ongoing negotiations.
“GRADUAL REOPENING” PLAN ON THE TABLE
According to diplomatic sources, work is underway to reopen the Strait of Hormuz not completely, but in a controlled and phased manner.
Within the scope of the plan, it was stated that the option of resuming ship passages according to a specific schedule and, in parallel, easing some restrictions in the region is being evaluated.
Pakistani sources claimed that an understanding in principle has been reached between the parties and that expectations that maritime traffic could resume in the near future have strengthened.
“VERY PRODUCTIVE CONTACTS ARE BEING HELD”
US President Donald Trump also made notable statements regarding the process.
Stating that the White House administration is conducting “very productive” contacts with Iran, Trump said that reaching an agreement between the parties is a strong possibility.
ALL EYES ON THE TEHRAN ADMINISTRATION
According to information reflected in diplomatic circles, the Iranian administration continues its evaluation of the comprehensive 14-point proposal package presented by the US.
While it is stated that Tehran is expected to announce its final decision shortly, it was noted that if an agreement is reached, the new negotiation process could continue in international diplomacy centers such as Islamabad or Geneva.
Developments in the Strait of Hormuz are considered to be of critical importance for global energy markets and international maritime transport.
