Day 13 of Israel-Hamas conflict: Israeli army completes preparations for ground offensive in Gaza

Following the Al-Aqsa Flood operation launched by Hamas against Israel on the morning of October 7, the clashes in the region are intensifying with each passing day.

While the repercussions of Israel's hospital attack in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of 471 people, continue, reports of bombardment from the region keep coming.

In a report by Israel's official state television, KAN, it was stated that there have been no clashes between the Israeli army and Palestinian groups in the Gaza border region for the past three days.

The report stated that all developments, including the movement and positioning of forces, indicate that the Israeli army has completed its preparations to enter the Gaza Strip, and that the ground operation to be carried out in Gaza is the second phase of the war, "following the clearing of Jewish settlements of armed Palestinians."

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed "Al-Aqsa Flood."

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border. The armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from there, and the Israeli army launched attacks on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,405 Israelis, including 304 soldiers, were killed and 3,968 Israelis were injured in the attacks from Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 3,478 people had been killed and more than 12,000 people injured in Gaza due to Israeli attacks. 13 journalists have lost their lives in Israeli attacks.

In the clashes that began on the Lebanon border on October 8 between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, 10 Hezbollah members, 2 Islamic Jihad members, 1 journalist, and 2 civilians lost their lives. In attacks carried out from the Lebanese side, 2 Israeli soldiers and 1 Israeli civilian also lost their lives. Finally, 471 people lost their lives and 342 people, 28 of whom were in critical condition, were injured in the attack carried out by Israel on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza on October 17.
